With explicit auctions, parties can buy capacity from BritNed and electricity from the traders. At the implicit auction market participants can buy capacity as well as electricity in one single transaction.
Due to this combination of auction systems and the different terms of the explicit auction, customers have a real choice on how to bid for capacity.
