In implicit auctions (also known as market coupling) electricity and capacity are traded together and it enables electricity to be moved from one power exchange to another power exchange. BritNed's day-ahead implicit auction is facilitated by APX-ENDEX.
The implicit auction system is similar to the current auction system between the region of the Central West European Market Coupling (CWE): The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and France.
