Consultation Review BritNed Access Rules

BritNed has conducted a review of the BritNed Access Rules and a revised set of rules (draft 13-12-11) which are proposed to supersede the current rules (05-04-11) can be found here: Download section

The reason for the changes at this time is as a result of the ongoing development work in the UK, France and Ireland (FUI) regional initiative which is working towards greater harmonisation of access rules for Interconnectors in the region. To this extent, BritNed has been jointly coordinating the work with IFA, Eirgrid and Moyle to produce a set of rules which represent a significant level of common and harmonised rules across the region.

In accordance with the BritNed Access Rule E4, responses will be gratefully received by 13th January 2012 and should be sent by e-mail to britned.info@britned.com

Please quote “BritNed Access Rules Consultation” in the subject line. It is kindly requested that responses are written in English. Unless respondents request that their response remains confidential, responses may be made public. Respondents should clearly mark any part of their response (or the whole response), which is to remain confidential.

When responding please state whether you are responding as an individual or representing the views of an organisation. If responding on behalf of an organisation, please state which organisation and, where applicable, how the views of the members were collated.

When responding with specific comments and/or proposed rules, please indicate clearly which rule number your commentary relates to.

Following receipt of the responses BritNed will prepare a summary of the responses received and publish this on their website. A revised (as necessary) version of the rules will then be submitted to the relevant National Regulatory Authorities for approval in context of the regional objectives.
